Western Maverick had a banner year in 2007, thanks to the exploits of his two top performers, Deuce Seelster and Simply Mavelous.  Leading the way was the 2-year-old pacing colt, Deuce Seelster, who banked $636,579 from 9 wins and 2 seconds in just 12 lifetime starts.  Amongst Deuce Seelster’s major stakes wins were the $300,000 OSS Superfinal, three $130,000 OSS Gold Finals, an elimination of the Metro Pace, and three OSS Gold eliminations.  Leading the OSS 2-year-old colt division from start to finish, Deuce Seelster paced to a lifetime best of 1:52 over Woodbine.

Simply Mavelous was a very consistent performer in the 3-year-old filly OSS Gold division, having amassed earnings of over $225,000.  Her major accomplishments in 2007 include pacing to victory in a $130,000 OSS Gold Final at Mohawk in a life’s best of 1:50.4, as well as winning a leg of the Silver Reign Series.  At 2, Simply Mavelous was victorious in 4 starts, while taking a mark of 1:55.1 over Woodbine.
